Marly units cover about 4438 square kilometers, i. e. 20 per cent, of Zanjan province territory. In this article, the volume of runoff within marly units in Zanjan province was studied using a rain simulator. In this regard, by overlying slope, climate, and marly units of geological formation maps, a number of 18 homogeneous units were distinguished using ArcGis 9.3 software.In the field, 120 samples were depth of 30-0 cm. Physicochemical data obtained from the analysis using SPSS statistical program was used for analysis.Based on a factor analysis of all variables defined physicochemical marl units can be summarized in three factors.Where the first factor is related to the physical properties, soil texture marl units. Variables can be dissolved potassium and sodium, and potassium solution as a reagent and is the second major variable is the main variable. Organic matter (OC) and the Plastic limits(Pl) as the main variables can be selected in the third and particular organic matter. The parameters of soil texture, organic matter content and soluble potassium and sodium are important variables too Plastic limits according to the highest correlation with the selected study area. It is obvious that each of these factors somehow separate and distinct physiochemical characteristics and marl units are effective in Zanjan province.
