Dr. Wood is an experienced oil, gas and energy consultant and independent researcher. He provides
technical, fiscal and contractual advice and acts as an expert witness for arbitration on a range of
energy related issues including petroleum, renewable energy and emissions-related environmental
issues. He has extensive management, contractual, geoscience, engineering, machine learning,
benchmarking, economics, financial, fiscal, operations, project, risk, negotiation and strategic
management experience with many international energy organizations and asset portfolios. His 45-year
plus track record involves a broad, in-depth knowledge of the energy industry including operations,
contractual, management, strategic and project development perspectives. He has published more 530
publications, mostly in peer-reviewed journals, including seven books. His H-index in 2024 is 50+ based
on >17,000 citations. He has extensive editorial experience with peer-reviewed, energy-focused
scientific journals. In 2024 he co-edited and co-authored new books on sustainable LNG and drilling
