Lorestan province is rich in geodiversity and biodiversity due to its climatic, geological, geomorphological and biological diversity. The study area is located in the protected area of Oshtorankuh in the east of Lorestan province. This research seeks to quantitatively evaluate the geological diversity of this region and its relationship with the pattern, density and types of vegetation using remote sensing technology; For this purpose, to determine the type of vegetation in the protected area of Oshtorankuh, a division based on morphology was used. The method was that first the geodiversity of this area was quantitatively evaluated using the GI index and by field observations and geomorphological mapping, the output data were validated and by Using SAVI index, the density status and vegetation pattern of Oshtorankuh protected area were determined; Then, the types of vegetation were classified based on appearance morphology and examined with information from the geodiversity index. The results showed that the pattern and density of vegetation in this area follow the geodiversity classes and their spatial distribution in accordance with the geodiversity classes of shrubland to rangeland and grassland, from high to low. Therefore, in order to succeed in the protection of biological species, especially plant communities in protected areas, geological protection must also be considered. Therefore, in order to succeed in the protection of biodiversity in protected areas, geoconservation must also be considered.
